To Play BIG You Have to ACT BIG

To Play BIG in life and work you have to ACT BIG. I don't mean that you have to act superior to anyone or believe that you are better than someone else. When you act that way you are really acting very small and insecure. When you behave in a way of superiority you are letting your ego take over and eventually you will pay the price. Competing with someone else gives you a false sense of superiority or bigness.

The people who ACT BIG believe that within themselves they are gifted with the talent, determination, faith and persistence to be the best they can be. It is not about competing against someone else, but about pushing to surpass yourself, to be better than you were before. Acting BIG is about behaving as though you are the best you can be, without putting limitations on how phenomenal you are.

ACTING BIG means that when you are at work you are performing your best at every task you do, no matter how trivial or important. It means that from the moment you walk into your office you are "on", you are focused on being the kind of worker you would want working for you. You answer the phone with genuine interest and know that how you act communicates your awareness of he responsibility that comes with creating a positive and powerful reputation.

A landing page is a website a visitor is directed to after clicking on an advertisement with the goal of capturing a lead, or selling a product. It’s a chance to pause (land if you will) and check out an offer.

Companies spend billions of dollars a year driving traffic to their website through online marketing campaigns, but so many are just wasting their money. Why? Because their landing pages are awful. Most landing page visitors will leave the site within 8 seconds of arriving.

The key to a good landing page is to think of your visitor like a 5-year-old with ADD.

Keep it short and simple

A kid with ADD doesn’t want to do things that take a lot of mental effort for a long period of time. The same applies to your website visitors. Make your landing page easy to read and easy to skim. Have a nice clear big title, as well as headlines and bullets points. A visitor should instantly know where they are, what the page is about, and what they need to do. The landing page text should be short and straight to the point.

Also, cut down those massive form fields required to get the call to action. Never have more than 10 fields. No one wants to fill those out, especially if you ask them to fill out 27 different fields…so only ask for the information you really need. Read Full Article »»

Did Google Ignore an Italian Takedown Notice?

The verdict on the Italian YouTube court case verdict seemed pretty clear: sentencing Google execs to jail time for an invasion of privacy in a video posted (by someone else) on the UGC site was, well, “absurd,” as we said two weeks ago.
But some new evidence is coming out that may just justify at least the “guilty” verdict from the Italian court—since that’s all the Italian judge released (i.e. he didn’t publish his reasoning).
