The ABC's Of A Successful Home Business

By Annalaura Brown

Attitude- This is not only at the beginning of the alphabet but the most important. I was heard someone say, "Every situation is a positive situation if I view it as an opportunity for learning and growth." Anonymous author. Your attitude is the number one thing that will determine your success or lack thereof in a home business.

Boldness- having a home business requires you to be bold and brave. You will often need to do things you do not want to do or to do things that others will not do.

Caring- if you are going to be successful in your home business you need to show others that you care more about them and their needs than your own. Care about your customers and clients and I mean really care and you will be successful.

Daring- Dare to be different and to step outside your comfort zone.

Faith- starting and running a successful home business takes a leap of faith. You have to have faith that you will be successful and believe you can do it.

Goals- where are you headed with your business? You must have specific, clear and written goals.

Honesty- in today's world this is becoming increasingly rare and if you want to have a truly successful business you must practice complete and uncompromising honesty.

Internet- in today's world of technology, you must have a website and an Internet presence in order to truly be successful.

Love, you must love what you are doing, and truly enjoy your business.

Mentors, who is helping you to succeed? You must have at least two people who have succeeded in the past with a home business who can be there to offer you encouragement and advice.

Network- every successful business owner needs to network with others. What makes you think that because you are home based you are any different? Join BNI, the chamber of commerce, toastmasters etc. and get out and meet people in your community.

Obedience- you must obey and be true to not only the laws of the land and to the laws of your industry but also to yourself.

Passion- if you are truly passionate about your business then you will succeed no matter what.

Read- at least one book a month. This book needs to be something related to self development or home business success. There are so many books out there you could never read them all. Learn from others experiences and then apply their advice to your business.

Support- you need to create and maintain a support system. Whether it be your spouse, significant other, immediate family or friends, you need others who believe in what you are doing and who support you.

Team, you need to form a team of people to help you, whether they be people who are in the same business with you, mentors, suppliers or other helpful people.

Valiant- Be determined to succeed no matter what. Make a five-year commitment to your business and vow that you will never give up no matter what.

Write- articles, press releases, blogs and reviews are all forms of writing and writing will get your name out there and make you well known much quicker than most forms of publicity.
